About Foodie World
Cooking the world, one region at a time.
Foodie World started from a frustration shared by a lot of home cooks: recipe sites are endless, but they rarely help you understand why a dish works. You can find ten thousand variations of "chicken dinner" and still have no idea how a Thai green curry differs from a Massaman, or why a Cantonese kitchen and a Sichuan kitchen — both Chinese — produce such different food. We built this site to fix that, by organizing cooking the way cuisines actually evolved: by region, by ingredient, and by technique.
What you'll find here
The library is grouped into seven culinary regions — Asian, European, Latin American, Middle Eastern & African, and the regional traditions of China, India, and America — and twenty-seven sub-cuisines beneath them. For each, we highlight the signature dishes, the aromatic bases and spice blends that define the cooking, and the staples that round out the plate.
On top of that regional structure, we add the practical filters that matter on a busy weeknight: collections for 30-minute meals, slow cooker dinners, desserts, and dietary needs like vegetarian, vegan, keto, and gluten-free cooking, plus hubs organized by main ingredient and by season.
Our approach
We believe technique travels further than any single recipe. If you understand how to build a flavor base, how to match a cut of meat to the right cooking method, and how to balance a dish with salt, acid, and texture, you can cook confidently from any tradition — and adapt freely when your pantry doesn't match the recipe exactly. Our Cooking Guides go deeper on those fundamentals.
A note on our content
Foodie World is an independent project. The written guides and regional overviews on this site are created by our team. We're always refining and expanding the library, and we welcome feedback — if something is unclear, missing, or could be better, let us know through the Contact page.
